The recently-released version 1.3 of ArcGIS Edition of the security.manager has been rolled out, providing a load of new features!
As a "Most-Wanted Feature", security.manager adds control over attribute fields of a layer. This makes it possible to either show or hide certain fields for different user groups.
Typical use cases are, for example, sales figures for individual sales territories that are to be visible for certain management levels but hidden for other users. This feature can also be used to protect personal data, like parcel information where ‘owner’ information shall not be publicly visible.
Since security.manager - ArcGIS Edition 1.3 now also supports ArcGIS Enterprise 10.6.1, there is another innovation that is hardly visible at first glance: From this version and from ArcGIS Enterprise 10.6.1 on, security.manager can now also be used for services published via ArcGIS Pro. Until now it was not possible to activate security.manager for these services, because the ArcGIS server did not allow the use of server extensions like security.manager for this publishing option. This restriction of the ArcGIS platform has now been removed, so that the security.manager could now also be extended into this direction.
In addition to these major features, numerous detail improvements have also been incorporated, primarily to make the use of security.manager even more intuitive and to avoid typical user errors.
We are looking forward to your feedback on this new release and hope that you can benefit from the new possibilities.
