Information on the Lifecycle Phases
General Availability
- The latest major version of a product is usually in the General Availability phase.
- This version is actively developed further.
- It is recommended to always use the latest minor version.
Extended Support
- Lifecycle phase after the release of a new main version.
- The version continues to be maintained.
- The Extended Support period should be used to plan the migration of a solution to the current main version.
Mature Support
- At this point at the latest, a solution should be upgraded to the current major version.
- If this is not possible, it is recommended to continue operating the solution in Extended Lifecycle Support.
